Bragg's Original Charcoal Biscuits are made according to an original recipe from 1879, devised by John Longman Bragg in his bakery in London's West End.
Charcoal biscuits contain activated charcoal - a natural product which gives the biscuits their distinctive colour. These delicious biscuits may be eaten on their own or with cheese and other savoury foods.
Charcoal has been used as an ingredient in many products over the centuries. It can be traced back to 1500bc when it was used by the Egyptians. Today activated charcoal is still used to promote a healthy digestive system.
Ingredients:
Stone ground, wholemeal flour, unbleached white flour, salted butter, raw cane sugar, activated charcoal (2%), malt, raising agent E500.
Contains:
milk, gluten and may contain traces of eggs, nuts, mustard and sesame.
Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Once the pack is opened the product should be kept in an air tight container.
