Dr Edward Bach was a member of the Royal College of Surgeons who discovered
how various plant and tree preparations seemed to affect his thoughts and
feelings. As a result, he spent much of his life studying this subject. It may
be argued he was particularly modern in that he saw clearly that a person's
emotional side could manifest itself in physical ailments.
During his studies, Dr Bach determined there were 38 different
flower remedies and these could be organised into 7 groups of
impact on the emotions.
Ainsworth's Bach Flower Remedies are prepared by the methods
laid out by Dr Bach. It should be noted they are not
homeopathic in nature. They contain very substantially more flower
essence than those made by homeopathic dilution.
